It's pretty freaken amazing what some people can do in so few pages. The fantasy and war aspects of this actually reminded me of Raymond Feist's Magician series, which if you don't know it is a fantastic epic of, well... epic proportion. The characters here were complex, the world-building was fantabulous, and the ending was hopeful and happy without being unrealistic. Would love a follow up short about Sjurd coming home to Celyn on Gwydr after a minor skirmish, and/or an unexpected run in/reunion with Ivarr and Hrolf. Pleeeeease?!?
